Check out this cool site, www.searchme.com. It’s a visual search engine and it will get your brain moving. It remains to be seen whether it can play with google, but it is a cool idea.

Well that was definitely worth exploring. I was just reading some search engine patents yesterday and I’m sure they’re trying to allow people to get a snapshop of a search result before going to the page – and that’s exactly what you do and it’s a great tool. I just wish my computer was faster (I have an old one and I’m on satellite so everything loads slow.) But I have to say I’m going to bookmark it cause it’s very useful! I could tell right away if it was something I wanted to click on because of the visual. Definitely worth a visit.

I can’t type this early. Snapshot. Not Shapshop. I really need to start proofing before I post a comment.

Unfortunately SearchMe search engine has been taken down. For me they were the best example of effective visual multimedia search engine. Seem like it’s still expensive to maintain multimedia search. Here is a list of multimedia features they provided: http://searchlens.org/web_search_engines/?n=Searchme
