170,000 New Jobs Added to US Payroll in January

by

US payroll increased by 170,000 jobs in January, according to ADP’s employment report. This is the smallest gain in three months. This figure marks the second straight year of payroll increases. Payroll began moving upward in February 2010 and has increased 2.93 million, or 2.7%, since then. Check back on Friday when the Bureau of Labor Statistics releases its monthly employment report. The much more extensive Friday report will add further contextualization.
