Another Explanation For Drop In Crime

Mother Jones with another possible explanation, lead, for the drop in crime the US has seen over the past twenty years.

I have some doubts about whether this is correlation or causation. Be sure to look closely at the x axis on the graphs shown here. They are certainly unconventional, at best.

US Prison Population

Nice post from WAPO about shrinking US prison population. It’s not as good as it seems because many states are shrinking prison populations because of budgetary constraints, not a real reduction in criminals.

Murders in NYC
